Premarital Counseling
Planning a wedding is exciting. Preparing for your marriage is one of the best investments you can make in your relationship.
At Forest Ridge Therapy, we offer premarital counseling using the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment, an evidence-based program that helps couples strengthen communication, better understand one another, and build a healthy foundation for marriage.
Whether you're engaged, planning your future together, or simply want to strengthen your relationship before marriage, premarital counseling provides a space to have meaningful conversations and develop skills that support a lasting partnership.
We offer virtual sessions as well as in-person appointments in Vienna, Virginia.
Why Premarital Counseling?
Every relationship has strengths and areas for growth. Premarital counseling gives you the opportunity to explore both before entering marriage.
Together, we'll discuss topics such as communication, conflict, finances, family relationships, shared values, intimacy, future goals, and expectations. My goal is not to help you avoid every challenge, but to help you build the skills and confidence to navigate them together.
What is PREPARE/ENRICH?
PREPARE/ENRICH is one of the most widely used premarital assessments available. Each partner completes an online questionnaire, and we'll review the results together during counseling sessions.
The assessment highlights your relationship strengths while identifying areas that may benefit from additional conversation and skill building. It creates a personalized roadmap so our work is focused on what matters most to your relationship.
What to Expect
Most couples complete the process in about 6 to 8 sessions.
Our work together typically includes:
Completing the PREPARE/ENRICH assessment
Reviewing your personalized results
Strengthening communication and conflict resolution
Exploring important relationship topics
Learning practical skills you can continue using throughout your marriage
